My Mission

My mission was to create a fabric that was not only considered for its sensitivity and delicateness against babies and infants skin, but one that also respected the environment.

By taking into account the effects that the production of fabrics have on the environment, I wanted to ensure there was as little damage as possible, to the workers and to the environment, whilst still trying to achieve a beautiful product without ignoring the main sources.

This is what led me to using Bamboo fabric for my products.  Known for its great reputation and qualities for both skin and the environment, it seemed like the perfect choice.

My vision when designing the products was not only to ensure they were pleasing to touch but also pleasing to the eye. Baby friendly designs, that were subtle, calming and natural looking. I thought the best way to achieve this was by using watercolours. So you will find all of my designs are hand painted in watercolours and designed by myself to achieve this affect.

Most importantly I want to bring safety to children’s skin and the environment, whilst bringing good quality, unique and fun designs to my customers.

The Benefits of using Bamboo fabric

Bamboo is one of the softest fabrics around and is absolutely perfect for tiny people’s skin. Not only because of its obvious texture but for many other reasons too.

Bamboo fabric is very versatile due to its strong cross section of fibres not only allowing for strength, but for absorption and ventilation due to the micro gaps. This means it is breathable and has great thermo - control keeping your baby cool in the summer and warm in the winter. As it absorbs moisture away from the skin, keeping it drier. The fabric is antistatic so it sits well against the skin.

It is hypoallergenic, meaning it is kind to allergy prone and sensitive skin as well as being antibacterial and antifungal due to a component found in bamboo called bamboo quinone, which makes it very difficult for bacteria to reside and multiply in. Bamboo fabric therefore, stays fresh for longer and is less likely to smell than other baby product textiles.

Bamboo fabric cuts out 97.5% of harmful UV rays perfect for traveling and holiday cover ups protecting them from the sun.

Environmental Benefits

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants, growing 50cm/ 3ft a day and does not need any pesticides or fertiliser to aid its fast growth, therefore making it naturally organic.

Bamboo does not need replanting and usually has 3 crop cycles a year from each plant and is sustainable to the soil due to being cut rather than uprooted.

Bamboo absorbs vast amounts of CO2 and releases 35% of oxygen, making it incredibly significant to our environment.
